This version of Regenyei Armory’s Peter Messer has a rolled (back folded) tip for sparring safety. This robust training sword has a relatively stiff blade that Regenyei states is intended for historically accurate technical practice, heavy drilling, and light and controlled sparring with proper edge alignment. The blade is well-tempered 51CrV4 spring steel with a 49-51 HRc hardness and it has a thick base and spine with substantial overall blade distal taper to give it a good overall balance. The guard and pommel are steel and the grip is completed with two scales of polished Beech which are brass riveted to the thick blade tang for a tough and resilient overall construction.
