This is the Trainer (Full-Contact) from Regenyei Armory and is the new version of their Firenze Sidesword. The blade is thicker and with thicker edges than the standard version and designed to withstand hard use and to have a longer use-life. Regenyei states that the trainer version is suitable for everyday use, tournaments and full-speed sparring. the Firenze is the most slender and lightest blade; it is quite nimble in the hand, responsive and easy to control. The blade has a rolled (back folded) tip for sparring safety and it is made from 51CrV4 Spring Steel with a tempered 49-51 HRc hardness. The hilt is made from steel with a darkened, antiqued finish and the grip is tightly bound in cord. The blade is solidly anchored into the hilt with a robust peen over the pommel.
