Surprisingly Comfortable I really didn’t expect these Roman Caligae Sandals to actually be comfortable, but they certainly are. They are well made of good leather with truly thick soles. Given the number and size of the studs you won’t want to wear these on your hard wood floors but they’ll serve well in any encampment. I chose to run the laces a bit differently for the top three segments as it holds the long tabs in a slightly nicer form. Of course, that is a personal thing but I have always felt that a wee bit of individuality adds an authentic touch when engaging in living history. These are fine sandals and I am glad I ordered them before they were discontinued.
